Lifelines Presentation-September 18th
As you may know, suicide is one of the top three causes of death for young people ages ten
through twenty-four. Collinsville Public Schools takes the safety and well-being of our
students very seriously. Throughout this school year, we will be bringing the Lifelines
Curriculum into the classroom for our 6th , 8th , and 11th-grade students. This program
provides students with essential information about youth suicide and, more importantly,
guidance on what to do if they are concerned about themselves or a friend.
We recognize that we cannot effectively teach students that it's okay to ask for help unless
the entire community—school staff, guardians, and community members—feels confident
in how to respond when a student reaches out to a trusted adult about such a sensitive
issue. That’s why we’re offering an opportunity to attend an informational meeting about
the Lifelines program. We encourage you to join us, ask questions, and learn more about
this valuable resource. We believe it will strengthen our collective ability to support
students and help create a safer, more informed school environment.
Wednesday Thursday September 18, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Collinsville Middle School Library
