Wall of Honor

The Veteran's Day celebration at Wilson 6th Grade looked a little different this year due to the current pandemic. The students were able to honor veterans by creating a Wall of Honor.  The wall displayed the five seals from the branches of military services. Students created poppies in their Art classes to honor Veterans. Students and staff also filled out yellow ribbons with the names of family or friends that served and those ribbons were placed around the seal of the military branch of service.  The students have also been learning about the meaning of Veteran's Day through various activities in their Social Studies classes this week.  Principal Chris Bilyeu read a statement from the Veteran's Administration thanking the Veteran's for their service. He also led the students in the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence to honor those that gave their time and lives in military service.
