CUE students, involved in our GATE program, were able to take a field trip to the new Virtual Reality Lab at Collinsville High School. They were able to experience 3D dissections along with flying a futuristic virtual reality car, the Oculus Rift, in New York City. Their favorite part of the trip was experiencing the latest version of HTC Vive and exploring the virtual lab where they played fetch with a dog, used a giant slingshot, and defended their castle along with other interacting games. Mrs. Musselman, CUE GATE teacher, led an engaging and energetic discussion afterwards about the future use of virtual reality in real world situations.
