Pre ACT Parent Letter

Next week, October 18th, we will be administering the PreACT to all 8th graders. 7th graders will have a virtual learning day and will not report to school. Please ensure your 7th-grade students work from home on Google Classroom.

PreACT assessments provide you and your child with information that can help you select the right high school courses, think about ways to target areas for improvement, and even begin discussions about college and career. These assessments help identify:

  • A student’s progress with the skills/knowledge required to succeed in college and beyond
  • Areas where extra help or additional courses are needed
  • Career possibilities that match the student’s interests

On testing day:

  • 8th-grade athletes will report to their assigned sport, all other 8th-grade students will report to the middle school first hour.
  • We will begin testing at second hour, approximately 9:40 AM.
  • We should be finished testing by approximately 12:25 PM.
  • Before next week, you may fill out this Google Form if you would like to check your student out to be picked up after testing.
  • Lunch will be served once testing is complete.
  • Students should bring pencils and a PreACT-approved calculator for testing.

Results for the PreACT will be delivered to our school in November and passed out to students during their English class. Fall break will begin October 19th and students will return to school on October 25th. If you have any questions, please give us a call
