Sheep Brain Dissection

Mrs. McNeal's first hour STEM-Forensics class is at it again! They are learning the scientific processes of dissecting and labeling body organs. Today they were working with preserved sheep brains. They were responsible for labeling the outside parts of the brain, dissecting the brain, and labeling the inside parts of the brain. Prior to the lab, they spent time looking at different views of a brain and practiced labeling brain parts on paper. They made flag labels and learned about the different instruments that would be used. Lab safety was also discussed for the use of scissors and scalpels. From the pictures it looks like the lab was a success!
