The CHS Academic team competed in the OSSAA Area Tournament this past Saturday. We fielded a team of 1 junior, 1 sophomore, and four freshmen and took a Fourth place finish behind Bishop Kelley, Edison Preparatory School, and Tahlequah High School. This was a GREAT showing for our young team! We completed our OSSAA season with a record of 23 Wins and 8 Losses. I am very proud of the way the students have handled themselves this season. We are scheduled to compete next as a team in the Oklahoma Regional Science Bowl on February 1st and students will be competing as individuals in the Oklahoma High School Tournament of Champions in the coming weeks. Go Cardinals!

Sample of "Electron Configurations of Atoms and Ions" In Ryan Frame's Chemistry Class
New CHS Organizations: Astronomy Club

The goal of this group is not to create another science class with homework and stress for its attendants. Rather, it has been started by some students passionate about the Universe and excited to help others have an appreciation for it. The group will cover a variety of subjects such as the following: history of astronomy, modern astronomy, our solar system, formation and life of stars, galaxies, black holes, and more, with the help of former astronomy teacher Ryan Frame. Everyone is invited to come.

*regular attendance is advised because in some ways the interesting lessons build upon the ones before it.

BUS LOADING ZONE:
The drive running east of the school is for the loading and unloading of bus passengers
only. Please do not drive into this area.
CAR PASSENGER PICK-UP:
Car riders need to be picked up using the south drive (by the bell tower). Please pull forward to keep the traffic flowing.
SCHOOL SPEED ZONE:
A school speed zone has been constructed to keep our children safe. When the yellow lights are flashing the speed limit is 30 mph. The zone will be operating from 7:15 to 8:05 am and 2:10 to 2:45 pm. Please slow down and help keep our children safe.

SCHOOL VISITORS:
All school visitors must check in at either the Principal's or Attendance office. If parents are checking their child out please come in and obtain a permit slip and sign your child out. Our campus is a "closed campus" during lunch. This is for safety reasons. Only students who parents physically come in to sign them out will be allowed to leave campus during the lunch periods.
