The CHS Academic Team finished its OSSAA season at the State Tournament Saturday in El Reno, OK. The team won its first round against Tahlequah, but then lost in the second round to Bishop Kelley and third round to Duncan. Though we didn't advance as far as we would have liked in the tournament, this is still a tremendous accomplishment. It was the first time CHS has ever sent a team to State Quiz Bowl, and we don't intend for it to be the last!
Our team is still competing in several areas. The "Froshmore" team, only freshmen and sophomores, has been competing in its own subject-based tournament series and has earned Champion in Science, Runner-Up in Math, Runner-Up in Humanities, and 3rd Place in Social Studies. They will be competing in the State Froshmore Championship on Saturday, March 28. Students will also compete individually in March to earn places at the Tournament of Champions in May.
The team will also be returning to the National Academic Championship in Washington D.C. at the end of May, entering both the Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions.

The CHS Academic team competed in the OSSAA Area Tournament this past Saturday. We fielded a team of 1 junior, 1 sophomore, and four freshmen and took a Fourth place finish behind Bishop Kelley, Edison Preparatory School, and Tahlequah High School. This was a GREAT showing for our young team! We completed our OSSAA season with a record of 23 Wins and 8 Losses. I am very proud of the way the students have handled themselves this season. We are scheduled to compete next as a team in the Oklahoma Regional Science Bowl on February 1st and students will be competing as individuals in the Oklahoma High School Tournament of Champions in the coming weeks. Go Cardinals!

Helpful School Procedures

The drive running east of the school is for the loading and unloading of bus passengers
only. Please do not drive into this area.
Car riders need to be picked up using the south drive (by the bell tower). Please pull forward to keep the traffic flowing.
A school speed zone has been constructed to keep our children safe. When the yellow lights are flashing the speed limit is 30 mph. The zone will be operating from 7:15 to 8:05 am and 2:10 to 2:45 pm. Please slow down and help keep our children safe.

All school visitors must check in at either the Principal's or Attendance office. If parents are checking their child out please come in and obtain a permit slip and sign your child out. Our campus is a "closed campus" during lunch. This is for safety reasons. Only students who parents physically come in to sign them out will be allowed to leave campus during the lunch periods.

Here at Collinsville High School we are very proud of our students, school and community. Our students and staff strive to make our school the best it can be and our community is very supportive of our endeavors. At CHS, we incorporate learning strategies that not only increase the base of knowledge but also increase the critical thinking ability of our students. This empowers our students to make problem solving decisions based on the knowledge and skills they have acquired. We are also very excited about our extracurricular groups. Whether it be the academic team, band, clubs and organizations, cheer or athletic teams, Collinsville students are excelling. Our motto still holds true. “It’s good to be a Cardinal!”
